Curated by Stevei Houkāmau, Te Matapihi is an exhibition concept that brings together a diverse group of Māori artists. Originating from a range of backgrounds and artforms, this group of established makers have dedicated themselves to working outside of the box, exploring the full spectrum of Māori creativity and practice from the historic to the contemporary. Te Matapihi or “The Window” offers a view and invites you to explore the beauty and diversity of Māori art and practice through the eyes of a talented group of makers
There are also events including an artists’ panel discussion and a vessel making workshop as part of the exhibition programme. Find out more or register.

Pottery Postural Patterning at Ōtaki Potters with Nik Curry
Don’t put up with the aches and pains that potters sometimes think are inevitable or unavoidable.
In this four-hour workshop, you will learn to use your body correctly and become more balanced by creating new patterns for your wheel and blocking work.
$45 per person

Join us for a two day sculptural workshop with accomplished figurative and portrait sculptor Javier Murcia. Without using a model, students will sculpt the head, face and neck in clay.
