Central North Island news – May/June 2024
Kia ora, Matilda here from Driving Creek Pottery. As the days continue to get shorter, the Driving Creek trains keep on chugging and the pugmill keeps on pugging. We’ve had potters from all around the country visit to take part in our new intensive courses. It’s been a pleasure to get to meet some of you. | This course is aimed at more experienced throwers who are looking to increase their speed, accuracy, efficiency and repetition of forms. Callum Trudgeon will be tutoring the production courses. | This course is taught by guest glaze-nerd, Ronald Boersen. It is intended for potters who want to start mixing their own glazes and for those who already have some basic knowledge and experience. He will explain the fundamentals of how glazes (cone 6-10) work and then put theory into practice by exploring different testing methods and reviewing the fired results.
