Whanganui Artists Open Studios โ March 15 โ 24
Whanganui Artists Open Studios is the largest, longest running and most diverse arts trail event in New Zealand. The event is held annually over two consecutive weekends in March, with other events and workshops held during the week between.

Updates from New Plymouth Potters
We are getting our kilns running more efficiently with these educational working bees. Educating our members on the proper use etc.
Our Kiln officer, Mike is organising a Kiln room Working Bee Workshop 10am Saturday 9th March, with a shared lunch to finish. Please bring your lunch. Hot drinks provided.
โข Hands on activities:
โข Cleaning and preparing kiln shelves and props.
โข Witness cones use and preparation.
โข Health and Safety and etiquette.
โข How training to use the Electric kilns takes place.
โข Please wear old clothes, masks provided.
This would be a very useful event for those wishing to qualify for certification as a kiln user.
We are still waiting for new elements for the small kiln. Mike has stated that it might be usable for lower temperature firings. Contact Mike Wood if you are willing to risk its use.
The Gas kiln will also need attention to its pressure measuring system before it will be able to be used.
