  • Korean style trimming demo using handmade tools and understanding the relationship between throwing and trimming as it relates to harmony in the final form
  • Developing a more discerning “eye” for line and form by separating the structural phase of making and the shaping
  • Demo of Cylinders, Plates, and Teapots off the hump
  • Large Sabal (bowl), Hangari (Jars), Dalhangari (Moon Jar, 2 piece joining technique)
  • Discussion on developing a “practice” on your own and progression outline for self-study

There are only a handful of traditional throwing masters left in Korea, and this is a once in a lifetime opportunity to learn from one of them in New Zealand.

  • This is a demonstration-only workshop that will be held at Ōtaki Pottery Club at 47 Te Roto Road, Ōtaki.
  • The workshop runs from 9am to 12pm on 10 August 2024.
