Auckland is still in lockdown. Shops and galleries are closed, many exhibitions are being postponed or cancelled. Auckland potters continue to make work, some at kitchen tables or make shift back porch studios. Auckland Studio Potters is managing to contactlessly fire members’ pots and supply materials but the studios are closed and many woodfirings have been cancelled. GET VACCINATED!

Thank you to all those that traveled to Dunedin to be at our 60th National celebrations. The awards night, judges talk and weekend events were well attended and made for an inspiring and social weekend. Fire and Earth: Ceramics from the Top of the South opens on November 13th at the Suter Art Gallery in Nelson. With funding confirmed for our Touring Potter Programme, Carla Ruka is scheduled to visit Nelson/Marlborough in April 2022. Waiclay, in conjunction with Waikato Museum, have decided to postpone Waiclay exhibition until next year. The opening of the exhibition will now take place on 21st January 2022, with a Walk and Talk on 22nd January 2022. The  exhibition closes 10th April 2022.
