$0 fees for 2024! AGM 2023 Minutes & Important Updates

Thanks to everyone who attended our AGM last weekend.ย  Minutes from the AGM are now available on our website (Thanks Kate FItzharris for taking minutes!).

ICYMI one of the key parts of the AGM was a proposed motion to set the membership fees to $0 for 2024 along with a draft strategic plan and some updates to the Ceramics NZ Constitution.

We are very pleased to announce that all of these motions where passed and we are now in the process of updating our website and membership database.  Alongside removing membership fees a key part of draft strategic plan is to eliminate paid administrative staff to reduce expenses and create a more inclusive Association.  When applications for membership re-open shortly we are hoping to grow our leadership team and ask that all existing and new members consider how they might be able to contribute to the Association.

Currently we are hoping to get additional support in the areas of a social media and a newsletter editor, as well as accounts management, and an exhibitions team for the 61st National Exhibition (Auckland 2025).  If you are keen to help out in these roles, or others, please get in touch!

In other exciting news we have awarded Meagan Blake with honorary lifetime membership.  Read more >>

We also made a slight change to our governance structure, going from  President & Vice-President roles to 2 co-chairpersons.  Previous Vice-President Dr. Nicole Gaston has been elected into one co-chairperson role, while the other remains vacant.  If you’re interested in possibly taking on the vacant co-chair role please get in touch!

All of the current Regional Council Members were re-elected to their roles, with the addition of a new RCM from Northland, Julie Cromwell.  We farewelled Briar Monro but she assures us she will keep in touch through her role with the Quarry Arts Centre.  Read more about Julie >>

Thanks to everyone who has provided feedback on our draft 2023-2027 Strategic Plan so far. We are in the process of revising it and still accepting feedback up until the end of October. Please have a look at the plan and fill in our feedback form if you have any suggestions.
